The School of Special Education Participated in Education Development Project and Seminar Launched by MOE and UNICEF

To actively implement the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals in education, promote the modernization of education in China, and enable every child to enjoy equal and quality education, a project jointly launched by the Ministry of Education and UNICEF, “Promoting Integrated Education in China: Teachers’ Professional Competence Enhancement Project”, and its related academic seminar was held online on Aug. 22, 2022. Sponsored by the MOE and UNICEF, the seminar was hosted by the Institute of Integrated Education of East China Normal University and supported and guided by the Ministry’s Teaching Advisory Board for Special Education in Colleges and Universities and the Professional Committee on Integrated Education of CDRS (China Disability Research Society).

Quanzhou Normal University is one of the nine pilot universities of this project. Prof. Zeng Yaru, dean of the School of Special Education, was invited to attend the seminar and make a keynote speech. Prof. Zeng introduced the school’s experience in improving the professional quality of integrated education of normal college students, focusing on the strategies for enhancing integrated education abilities of primary education majors, preschool education majors, and other majors from four aspects: training goal establishment, curriculum module development, the construction of teaching teams, and teaching ability assessment of normal college students. She also put forward the priorities for the next stage.
